bahrainthismonth.com | JUNE 2025 TOP CHEFS 20 For Mr. Resnik, co-founder of The Hierophant Group, the opening of Brasero Atlántico Bahrain marks more than just another restaurant launch. “My focus is on the guest experience,” he explains. “The feedback we hear at the table, online or from guests who return again and again – that’s what matters to me.” Mr. Resnik, who spent 24 years working with Wolfgang Puck, brings a deeply personal ethos to hospitality. “Every guest is a gift,” he says. “I’m grateful for each one who chooses to dine with us – whether for a drink, an empanada or a full meal.” Food with Soul Describing the cuisine as “soulful and unpretentious,” Mr. Resnik explains that Brasero’s identity is shaped by Buenos Aires, immigration stories and childhood memories. Rooted in Passion Brasero Atlántico Bahrain co-founder Alex Resnik shares his philosophy on food, service and community as he opens the Bahrain outpost of his Buenos Aires-inspired restaurant. “We’re humble and honest in our approach,” he says. “It’s not fine dining. It’s rooted food, served with generosity.” The restaurant’s design reflects this philosophy: an open kitchen, countertop seating and a vinyl-only music policy create an immersive, relaxed atmosphere. “We prep, cook and serve in full view. Guests love being part of the action.” Choosing Bahrain The decision to open in Bahrain was personal. “My first visit to the country was in 2013. I stayed at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel then, so bringing this project to the newly-renovated property felt natural,” says Mr. Resnik. He credits the hotel’s owners and team for their openness: “They gave us creative freedom and supported the vision. What stood out most to me was the arrival experience for guests. The property offers space, elegance and a warm welcome.” Passing the Torch Now that the restaurant is open, Mr. Resnik is stepping back to let his team take centre stage. “Rodrigo Carvalho, our General Manager, and Executive Chef James Martin are the true leaders of this project,” he says. “They are the ones who will shape relationships and build loyalty.” He adds: “When I interviewed staff, I told them that I wanted people in the community to know their names. That’s how we create something lasting.” Next Steps In the coming year, Brasero Atlántico will continue evolving its menu with seasonal updates and new cuts of beef. The team also plans to host several events, featuring guest chefs and bartenders connected to their awardwinning Florería Atlántico bar. The restaurant’s terrace is expected to open in the cooler months, offering sweeping views of Manama. “The skyline, the lights, the energy – it’s a beautiful setting,” says Mr. Resnik. Reflecting on his time in Bahrain, he adds: “This place feels like home. We’ve been embraced by the community, and we’re committed to growing with it – with warmth, care and consistency.”
