bahrainthismonth.com | JUNE 2025 FATHER’S DAY 34 Father's Day 2025 In 2025, fatherhood is evolving in remarkable ways. We spoke to six fathers in Bahrain who shared their personal journeys, challenges and what being a dad means in today’s world. Benoit Metanomski What does fatherhood in 2025 feel like to you? Fatherhood in 2025 is a wild, rewarding ride – equal parts guiding, learning and cherishing the little moments. I try to balance embracing tech with teaching values, empathy, and presence. Life’s short, so I focus on love, safety and creating joyful memories. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned as a dad? Patience, active listening and putting away the phone! Being present – really present – matters. Kids are full of wisdom if you pay attention. I’ve learned to give them space to grow while being there 100 percent. In what ways have your children changed or taught you something unexpected? They’ve made me think beyond myself. Every choice now includes: “How does this impact the family?” From career moves to where we live, they’re my compass. How has living in Bahrain influenced your experience as a father? It’s been a mix of challenge and charm! Without extended family, we’ve built our own village. Bahrain’s culture and community have helped my kids grow into open, adaptable little humans. Darren Darwin What does fatherhood in 2025 feel like to you? It’s honestly a dream. My son’s five now, and after missing two years due to COVID and work travel, spending all of 2025 with him in Bahrain is the best. I take him to school daily, hang out on weekends – it’s amazing. Biggest lesson as a dad? Unconditional love, for sure. I’m a total softie – he gets away with everything! But seriously, it’s taught me patience and brought a love I never knew possible. Something unexpected your son has taught you? He’s cheeky, clever and full of personality. He’s taught me humility and to be even kinder. Plus, he’s hilarious – always playing tricks! How has Bahrain shaped fatherhood? Bahrain’s perfect – super family-friendly, loads of parks, sunshine and a great school. It’s honestly the best place I can imagine raising a child. Ilhan Anll What does fatherhood in 2025 feel like to you? It feels like juggling love, chaos and hope – trying to give my kids the best future in a wild world. Still, it’s a ride powered by resilience and heart. Biggest lesson as a dad? Patience! Learning to see life through their eyes has taught me to slow down and let them grow into themselves. How have your kids surprised you? They’ve shown me how truly different each child is. Their unique personalities mean parenting is never one-size-fits-all – and that’s a good thing. How has Bahrain shaped your fatherhood journey? Being an expat dad in Bahrain is tough at times – especially with family far away – but it’s made us closer. We’ve built our own traditions and tight-knit memories here.
