BenefitPay Merchant has empowered businesses and individuals alike and we’re proud to be part of the Kingdom’s digital economy.” - Hasan Khalid Abdulla
Hasan Khalid Abdulla, the Benefit Company’s Assistant Manager in the Business Development and Services department, shares insights into the firm’s role in revolutionising digital transactions for businesses in Bahrain.
Mr. Abdulla, who joined in late 2023 after an extensive 11-year career in the banking sector, manages key projects and develops strategies that enhance the business operations of both BenefitPay and the switch services. “At Benefit, we’re focused on simplifying the payments landscape, not just for consumers but also for businesses of all sizes,” says Mr. Abdulla.
BenefitPay Merchant is an app that enables businesses to accept payments by generating a QR code linked to their acquirer account. It allows seamless payments without extra hardware, offering flexibility across sectors.
“One of the standout features of BenefitPay Merchant is that it’s mobile-first. Merchants can accept payments on any mobile device, which makes the solution accessible and cost-effective,” explains Mr. Abdulla. “The simplicity and convenience of the platform have contributed to its widespread adoption in Bahrain.”
Despite its simplicity, developing a solution that addresses the varied needs of businesses has been a significant challenge. “Every business has unique requirements, and some face complexities due to their legal structures,” says Mr. Abdulla. “This has required careful consideration and additional due diligence to ensure our platform is adaptable to all.”
BenefitPay continues to refine its product to meet the demands of a diverse business ecosystem, from small enterprises to larger organisations. Its ability to cater to these varied needs is part of its success.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are at the heart of BenefitPay Merchant’s strategy. The platform is designed to be easy to integrate, enabling SMEs to accept payments quickly with minimal effort. Continuous support and maintenance ensure the service remains secure and reliable for users.
“The onboarding process for SMEs is as simple as possible,” says Mr. Abdulla. “We understand the challenges smaller businesses face, so we work hard to provide them with a seamless experience.”
Security is another cornerstone of BenefitPay’s approach. With a focus on protecting both merchants and customers, BenefitPay employs stringent security measures to safeguard transactions and sensitive data.
BenefitPay Merchant is constantly evolving. The company’s strategy includes rolling out new features that will further enhance the user experience. “Our goal is to make the merchant experience as simple and efficient as possible,” says Mr. Abdulla. Data analytics plays a crucial role in this evolution. By prioritising data integrity, BenefitPay ensures that its solutions are based on accurate insights into user behaviour.
Looking ahead, the future of digital payments in Bahrain appears bright. The widespread use of BenefitPay has made Bahrain one of the leading cashless societies in the region. The BenefitPay Merchant application has played a key role in this shift, aligning with Bahrain’s economic vision for 2030 and beyond.
“The transformation we’ve seen in Bahrain is incredible,” concludes Mr. Abdulla. “BenefitPay Merchant has empowered businesses and individuals alike and we’re proud to be part of the Kingdom’s digital economy.”
