This month, we explore how the Apparel Group is bringing iconic Japanese experiences to Bahrain, as it expands its ventures through Sushi Library and Asics in the Kingdom.
The Sushi Library, a contemporary Japanese restaurant concept, has quickly become a standout in Bahrain’s culinary scene. Following the success of its first branch in Marassi Galleria, the group has opened a second outlet in Juffair Square, with a third branch at The Avenues in the pipeline. Offering a creative fusion of Japanese flavours and modern dining, Sushi Library’s expansion highlights Bahrain’s growing appetite for diverse and innovative cuisines.
At the grand opening of the Marassi Galleria branch, guests were treated to tastings of signature dishes and lively cultural performances. “The opening of Sushi Library at Marassi Galleria reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences for the Bahrain community,” said Neeraj Teckchandani, CEO of Apparel Group. With its focus on quality and customer engagement, the restaurant aims to make Japanese dining accessible and enjoyable for a broad audience.
On the retail front, the renowned Japanese sportswear brand Asics is also making waves. Building on the success of its flagship store at Marassi Galleria, Asics is set to launch their two new outlets, with further expansions planned for this year. Known for its high-performance athletic gear and stylish designs, the brand is resonating with Bahrain’s active lifestyle enthusiasts.
The recent openings were attended by Her Excellency Okai Asako, the Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain, and Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, Director of Information & Follow-up at the Capital Governorate. Both dignitaries praised the ventures for fostering cultural and economic ties between the two nations. “Such initiatives reflect the enduring friendship and shared values between Japan and Bahrain,” added HE Ms. Asako.
Apparel Group’s ambitious expansion underscores its dedication to enhancing Bahrain’s retail and dining options while contributing to the Kingdom’s economic growth. By combining world-class dining with premium retail experiences, the group continues to build cultural and commercial bridges between Bahrain and Japan.
As Sushi Library and Asics deepen their presence, they not only cater to local tastes and lifestyles but also celebrate the richness of Japanese culture. Their success reflects the growing potential for innovative concepts and international collaborations in Bahrain, paving the way for others in future.
