Edwin D’Souza discovers the Downtown Rotana Village Brunch, where a diverse selection of gourmet dishes meets a vibrant atmosphere. From fresh sushi rolls and a live salad station to mouth-watering ribs and decadent desserts, this brunch offers a feast for the senses, all set to the backdrop of live music and a DJ. An unforgettable dining experience awaits.
With a diverse spread that caters to every palate, this brunch stands out as a true celebration of food. From meticulously crafted sushi rolls to a variety of interactive stations, including a live ‘make your own salad’ counter and a taco station bursting with flavour, there’s something to entice everyone as soon as you walk in.
The aforementioned salad counter is a refreshing addition that is bound to catch your eye, allowing you to customise your salad with an array of fresh ingredients. It’s a perfect and light way to start your meal. The sheer variety, from piles of greens to pineapple and apple medleys, really left me speechless but wanting more of that healthy stuff. I also discovered that the tomato mozzarella and watermelon feta salads bring a burst of freshness and vibrant flavours.
Just opposite to the healthy salads is the mouth-watering taco station, where the selection of salsas adds a punch of flavour to your tacos with generous beef fillings. You will undoubtedly come back for seconds after tasting the freshness in every bite. The beef sliders and chicken nuggets were comfort food at its finest with the burgers juicy and cooked perfectly, while the shrimp was cooked to just right, tender and full of flavour.
The star of the brunch was undoubtedly the ribs, seasoned with a smoky barbecue sauce that had just the right amount of sweetness and tang, while the beef tenderloin had the most tantalising and amazing flavours of all. The live egg station was another crowd-pleaser, offering the opportunity to have your eggs cooked exactly the way you like them.
When it comes to dessert, the options are as indulgent as they are varied. The ice cream counter and crepe station were the popular choices, with endless possibilities for customisation. For those with a sweet tooth, the array of desserts is impressive: the fruit tart was light and refreshing, the vanilla macaroons were delicately flavoured, and the San Sebastian cheesecake, which is a well-renowned variant to die for, was rich and creamy. The coconut truffle and mousse were the perfect dessert for coconut lovers, while the chocolate fudge cake provided a decadent finish to the meal.
The ambience of the venue ties everything together, with live music creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a DJ who keeps the energy upbeat and the crowd entertained. The Downtown Village Brunch is not just a buffet to savour but an experience, one that beautifully combines great food, variety and entertainment into a memorable dining adventure.
