Setting the stage for a weekend filled with indulgence and relaxation, the Night Brunch at Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is a gastronomic extravaganza that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Kristian Harrison was offered the opportunity to check it out.
Taking place every Thursday from 6.30pm to 11pm, this culinary affair unfolds out of Silk’s Restaurant with seating inside the Gallery Lobby Lounge, accompanied by the soulful melodies of the excellent house Cuban band. It was the perfect prelude to what promised to be an evening of gastronomic delight.
From the outset, it was evident that every detail had been meticulously curated to ensure a memorable experience. The warm welcome extended by General Manager Benoit-Joseph Metanomski and his attentive staff set the tone for the evening, again proving that the Mövenpick is a hub of hospitality.
To start off light and easy, I leisurely explored the salad selection, where a kaleidoscope of colours and flavours awaited. From crisp greens to exotic toppings, the array of options catered to every palate, offering a tantalising glimpse of the culinary treasures yet to come.
Next, I made my way to the sushi station, where skilled chefs deftly crafted delicate rolls that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. Each bite was a symphony of flavours, a testament to the expertise and precision of the culinary team.
As the evening unfolded, I found myself drawn to the main courses, each station offering a tempting array of dishes that beckoned to be savoured. At the pasta station, the aroma of freshly cooked noodles mingled with the heady scent of rich tomato sauce, enticing me to indulge in a plate of beef ravioli that melted in my mouth with each forkful.
But it was at the roast and grill stations that the true magic happened. Here, succulent cuts of meat were expertly cooked to perfection, their enticing aromas filling the air and igniting the senses. From tender beef brisket to juicy lamb chops, each bite was a revelation, but the best was saved to last with the Rib-Eye, done medium-rare and packed with flavour and very little fat.
For those with a penchant for spice, the taco station offered a playful twist, while the selection of international dishes, including the sweet and sour chicken, provided a global influence.
Vegetarians were also well catered for, with a variety of options to tingle the taste buds. The tandoori cauliflower, in particular, stood out with its fiery kick and offering something different.
Of course, no feast would be complete without dessert, and the Night Brunch did not disappoint. From creamy crème brûlée to decadent New York Cheesecake, each sweet indulgence provided a fitting finale to the evening. Let’s not forget the Mövenpick ice cream, with flavours ranging from rich caramel to indulgent double chocolate chip, providing a cool and refreshing end.
To complement the feast, a wide selection of beverages was on offer, including soft drinks, selected beverages and expertly crafted cocktails.
To sum up, my experience at the Night Brunch was excellent. From the impeccable service to the exquisite cuisine, every moment was a celebration of expert hospitality at one of the Kingdom’s finest venues.
