Betrothed in Bahrain

In another story of love found on our beautiful island, Alex Middleton shares how he got down on one knee to his beloved Nina Patel.
In our humble opinion, Bahrain is a community where relationships and love thrive. Having grown up in Bahrain for half my life, there was no other place that I envisaged ‘popping’ the special question to my girlfriend.
Considering that she was only visiting the special island for two days, planning had to be flawless. In terms of location, the Four seasons hotel offered the perfect setting, with a beach that provides incredible views of Bahrain’s majestic skyline. Naturally, ‘location’ was salient for the inevitable barrage of photos to be taken and posted.
After spending a luxurious rest and recovery day between the pools and spa, I shepherded her along the silky sand on the last sunset of 2024, and knelt down on one knee to expose my innermost vulnerability, last displayed at my most recent prostate examination. A wave of relief washed over me as she said ‘yes’, and the rest of the moment was encapsulated by a blissful blur. We had the privilege of being able to celebrate with close family and friends at a wonderful NYE event hosted by my uncle, toasting to the new year, and exciting new beginnings for us!
