Pambavasan Nair, founder and Managing Director of Amad Group of Companies

Pambavasan Nair is one of the Kingdom’s most experienced businessmen. As the Founder and Managing Director of Amad Group of Companies, he shares his perspectives on leadership, industry trends and the future trajectory of his enterprises as part of our India in Bahrain supplement.

“We have a very clear vision and have imperative planning not just for five years but for the next 10 years across the GCC,” he states. “Our roadmap aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, underpinned by strategies introduced by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.”

Leadership and effective management are crucial in Mr. Nair’s dual role as the owner and managing director. He emphasises the importance of time management in balancing these responsibilities: “Managing your time helps you work smarter. If we follow and manage time properly, it is very easy to lead these roles. My approach ensures prioritisation and productivity, essential qualities for any successful leader.”

Discussing current trends in the electrical and construction industries, Mr. Nair highlights the significant support from Middle Eastern governments for the industrial sector. “Our leaders are extending all possible support to the industrial sector. Here in Bahrain, anyone who aspires to explore their potentials is very much encouraged,” he says. “This supportive environment not only accelerates the growth of new ventures but also encourages young entrepreneurs to pursue their business ambitions.”

Innovation and technology are at the forefront of Amad Group’s operations. It has integrated advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and service quality by replacing many conventional machines with highly advanced automated ones. The manufacturing unit’s fabrication works are executed by CNC machines, and the entire process, from fabrication to assembly, is controlled by fully automated and advanced technologies.

Sustainability is another critical aspect of Amad Group’s strategy. Mr. Nair asserts that all machines used are environment-friendly and comply with the regulations of the Supreme Council for Environment. “We have always taken appropriate measures to ensure environmentally friendly practices with highly advanced technologies, since commitment to sustainability is integral to tour long-term business strategy and aligns with global trends towards greener industrial practices,” he states.

As for challenges faced as a business leader in Bahrain, Mr. Nair believes in the importance of handling challenges and resilience. “Every day, we face various challenges. One has to study the matter, get into the details and face them confidently to resolve the issue by finding the right solution,” he says.

“Our life is made easier thanks to regular employee development. At Amad, we ensure our staff at all levels are taken care of with yearly training sessions to upgrade their expertise in the given field.”

Customer satisfaction is another aspect of paramount importance for Amad Group. The company has structured its operations into different divisions, each headed by a qualified engineer, to provide prompt and professional services.

Reflecting on his inspirations, Mr. Nair mentions the influence of various success stories he has read over the years. “Successful people face a lot of problems but keep working hard and finally achieve their goals. What I learned from their life lessons is to never give up, be confident and continue with hard work,” he shares.

Of course, balancing professional responsibilities with personal life is crucial for any businessman. He believes in managing time effectively and giving attention to his personal life when not at work. “Like any human, I love to spend time with my family, travelling and watching games,” he concludes. “This balanced approach contributes to overall success and well-being.”
