Mclaren Launches W1, Dubbed ‘The Real Supercar’

McLaren, which is owned by Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat, has finally revealed the new McLaren W1, the ground-breaking successor to two of the greatest supercars ever – the McLaren F1 and McLaren P1. This car, the brand believes, elevates the McLaren ‘1’ car lineage to new heights in every aspect of performance.

Powered by an all-new V8 hybrid engine producing 1,275 PS, it’s McLaren’s most powerful car to date. Weighing just 1,399kg, the W1 boasts a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of 911 PS per tonne. Its Formula 1-inspired aerodynamics include the innovative McLaren Active Long Tail rear wing, delivering up to 1,000kg of downforce. The W1 accelerates from 0-200kmph in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 350kmph. Just 399 units will be produced, and all are already allocated. Combining McLaren’s lightweight engineering and racing expertise, the W1 is both the fastest-accelerating and fastest-lapping McLaren ever, offering an unrivalled driving experience.
