Throughout its 17-year history, AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) has redefined what student success is, as something beyond the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills. This is strongly reflected in its mission of producing graduates who are competent, professional and entrepreneurial who will contribute to both the Kingdom’s and the world’s socio-economic efficiency, equity and sustainability.
The university operates in line with Bahrain’s Higher Education Council’s (HEC) directive to guarantee that higher education institutions work towards international standards and focus on providing curricula that equip students with the skills that are required in the 21st century.
To this end, in July 2018 AMAIUB submitted itself to Institutional Accreditation (IA) under the rigorous scrutiny of accreditors from the British Accreditation Council ensuring adherence to the highest internationally-recognised standards. Recently, the university achieved another notable milestone by attaining the much-coveted IA and achieving the quality seal of the HEC. The IA certificate was awarded by HE Dr MajidbBin Ali Al Noaimi, Minister of Education, in the presence of HEC Academic Accreditation Committee headed by Dr Mona Mohammed Al Balooshi. Dr Albdulghani Al Showaikh, the HEC Secretary General was also present during the awarding ceremony.
Since it is now institutionally accredited, AMAIUB is opening its doors to students from across the GCC region and the world to produce highly-skilled graduates who will help make up the future workforce of choice locally, regionally and globally.
In addition to this prestigious institutional accreditation, AMAIUB has made an indelible mark within the Kingdom’s academic community for all of its programmes which have sustained the rigorous scrutiny of international accrediting bodies such as the European Council for Business and Business Education (ECBE) which awarded accreditation for its business programmes – Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics, Bachelor of Science in International Business and Master of Business Administration. And the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which labelled AMAIUB as the first private university to have ABET accredited computing and engineering programmes awarded, namely Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Informatics Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering.
Additionally, AMAIUB takes great pride in the fact that all of its programmes have received accreditation from Bahrain Education and Training Quality Authority BQA.
AMAIUB is not just a university but a community that values cultural diversity and respect for religion, age, gender and socio-economic status. This inspires the administration, students, faculty and staff to work towards achieving a common goal – to embody excellence in all its endeavours.
Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, which are frequently updated. And faculty members undertake constant development in order to offer their students the latest in teaching methods and technology ensuring AMAIUB is able to offer the most advanced programmes available with a very high success rate for participants.
