Commitment to Empowering Communities

“It’s essential that we nurture a spirit of service early to ensure a future that continues to give.” - Basel Aryan

The Rotary Club of Seef Bahrain, led by its President, Basel Aryan, is dedicated to initiating community-enhancing charitable projects across Bahrain, demonstrating the power of service and leadership.

“My journey with this incredible organisation stretches back to the inception of the club as a chartered member,” Mr. Aryan explains. “From the very start, I served on the board of directors, gradually taking on more responsibilities each year until I was honoured to step into the role of President.”

Despite its recent formation five years ago, the Rotary Club of Seef Bahrain has significantly impacted the local community. “We’ve launched several initiatives, from supporting cancer patients through our Medical Fund to helping physically challenged students with their educational needs,” Mr. Aryan notes. The club is also active in campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness and extensive Ramadan initiatives that distribute food baskets and Iftar meals.

The society’s global reach extends through contributions to Rotary International’s PolioPlus Fund. Mr. Aryan proudly states: “This effort has been pivotal in reducing polio cases worldwide to single digits.”

Fundraising Initiatives
A major fundraising event is the Rotary’s annual Padel Tournament, alongside smaller community gatherings that encourage wider participation and support. “These events are crucial, they bring our community together for a common cause,” Mr. Aryan explains.

Its efforts range from local clothes distributions to international aid like the ‘Hand-in-Hand for Beirut’ campaign in response to the Beirut port explosion.

The club has also focused on fostering future leaders by establishing Interact and EarlyAct clubs in local schools. “It’s essential that we nurture a spirit of service early to ensure a future that continues to give,” says Mr. Aryan.

A Charitable Future
Looking forward, the club is preparing to launch MaRiva in 2025, a project aimed at revitalising Bahrain’s marine ecosystems.

Mr. Aryan is enthusiastic about the initiative: “MaRiva will tackle issues from marine pollution to habitat restoration. It’s about making a sustainable impact, ensuring our marine life thrives for generations.”

With a clear mission to serve passionately and lead by example, Mr. Aryan invites everyone to join the Rotary Club of Seef Bahrain in their efforts to forge a better future. “Our mission is clear: to make a significant, positive impact – one project at a time.

“Despite my commitments as a businessman, I firmly believe that we must all dedicate time to serve our community. The impact of giving back is profound. What drives me the most is seeing the reaction of those we help of joy, relief and gratitude that come from even the smallest acts of kindness.”
