Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Verdict: A fun and frenetic RPG.
What is it?
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The fourth major game in the Dragon Age franchise and the first in a decade, The Veilguard follows numerous lengthy delays and fundamental changes in design. The protagonist of the game is known as Rook. Who aims to stop Solas who has begun his ritual to tear down the Veil, causing demons to slip into the world.
Gameplay
In previous games, a player’s preceding world state was imported from save files or the web application Dragon Age Keep; Veilguard instead allows players to customise the world state during the game’s character creation. Players are able to remake their Inquisitor from Dragon Age: Inquisition with many characters from previous games woven into the new game. During character creation, players can choose a lineage for their player character (human, dwarf, elf or qunari), a fighting class (rogue, mage or warrior), and a character backstory with one of six faction associations. The game’s combat has changed from turn-based action to real-time action RPG elements.
Lego Horizon Adventures
Co-developed by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo, Lego Horizon Adventures is a playful and light-hearted story inspired by the events of the critically-acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn. In a distant future, the land is made of Lego bricks and incredible dinosaur-like machines roam the Earth. Aloy, the game’s leading hero, is found in a cave as a baby and raised by a grizzled huntsman called Rost, who teaches her the way of the wilds. One day, Aloy embarks on a quest to discover her true destiny. Follow your own adventure or share the fun with another player via couch or online co-op.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
The Zone keeps hundreds of secrets and thousands of stories, revealing them only to the bravest and most dexterous. Starting as a lone stalker, explore a unique post-apocalyptic world and decide who will get a bullet and who is worthy of your helping hand. And while making decisions, be sure: many choices and actions will have their own, sometimes far from the obvious, consequences.
To be a saviour and a faithful friend, the figure for Stalker’s campfire legends. Or to carry out harsh, but profitable missions for those who are in control of the Zone – you are free to be anyone here, even yourself.
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. It is a remake of the 2001 game of the same name and like the original, it follows James Sunderland (Luke Roberts), a widower, who returns to the eponymous town of Silent Hill upon receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), who claims to be waiting there for him.
